A Personal Review of 2019

Conclusion: This year didn’t suck

Full disclosure, I stole this idea from one of my favorite writers on Medium, Kris Gage. Here is her review, and I would highly recommend you check it out if you want to get inspired to steal and journal, in that order.

Anyway here we go, Thom’s personal review of 2019, time to get vulnerable.

So on paper, my 2019 was boring as hell. I barely traveled, worked the same dull government job for eleven months, and you know, just kind of hung around. Being right on the dot for a quarter-life crisis, this is where I would start panicking that my life is just going to be like this forever.

Good-bye fun time, hello spreadsheets, sort of deal.

But I didn’t panic, and instead, I took a deep breath and really reflected on my year. When I look back, from where I was to where I am now, I realize something.

2019 fucking rocked my socks.

Here is why.

My Highlights

THERE ARE SO MANY. Honestly, every time I think back on 2019 I can think of another highlight to add to my list. In the effort to make this article readable (under 20,000 words), I have narrowed my year highlights to three major ones.
